If your notebook came with 1 x 8 GB of memory, you should be able to install another 8 GB DDR4-3200 MHz memory chip in the empty slot.

The only service manual HP has for the model series is for those models that come with onboard system memory that cannot be upgraded.

Hi Paul, thanks for your help.
I search into cmd for the max capacity memory and found 64gb. Right now I have 12gb, looks like one slot has 8gb and the other one 4gb? Can I replace the 4gb one to 16gb?
thanks
Alex

You're very welcome, Alex.
Yes, you should be able to install a 16 GB memory chip in place of the 4 GB one, and then in the future, replace the 8 GB chip with a 16 GB chip so the memory runs in dual channel mode.
