HP-15-bs-103ne
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am using HP Notebook and is facing a huge performance issue. It takes a lot of time to boot up or open some application. So I planning to upgrade my HDD to SSD. Below is my laptop model

Model                : HP Notebook 15-bs-103ne

Product no      : 2ZH37EA#ABV

Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8250U CPU @ 1.60GHz 1.80 GHz

64-bit operating system, x64-based processor, 8GB RAM, 1 TB HDD

I would like to upgrade my HDD and I am having some doubts regarding upgrading my laptop. As per the HP 15 Laptop PC Maintenance and service guide, I understand that the following are the compatible SSD for my laptop.

But since this manual was made in 2018 I would like to know whether I can upgrade:

1) beyond the capacity that is mentioned in the guide .i.e can I upgrade with 1TB SSD?

2) If not possible, can I install a new 512 GB M.2 2280 SATA SSD ( transfer all C drive files to SSD) in M.2 SATA port and keep my existing 1 TB HDD after formatting the drive as a secondary drive inside the laptop itself?

Thanks & Regards

Hi:

If you want to install a 1 TB SATA M.2 SSD, that would be fine.

The drive capacities listed in the service manual are just what HP offered in the model series, not the maximum capacity supported.

Just don't buy a NVMe SSD because one of those will not work.

You should be able to do your second option as well.
