Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a HP 2000-2b43DX Notebook PC. I want to upgrade memory to 8GB from 4GB. Problem is, there's only one slot for memory, but online and on websites they say there are two slots and can only use 4GB in each slot. Can I still use just one 8GB memory card in that one slot? It does say its upgradable to 8GB.

The service manual says it only take 4GB memory sticks, so an 8GB is probably not going to work.
