@RKV18_99 , welcome to the forum.
What is the full model or product number of the computer? I need this information to review the specifications of it. Please don't furnish the Serial # or other personal information. Here is a guide to help you find it: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/bph07555

Thank you for the additional information, @RKV18_99!
Here is the Maintenance and Service Guide for the laptop: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05493257
On Pages 50 and 51 is a list of compatible memory modules and instructions for replacing them. The Part # 862398-855 is this memory: 8GB, 2400MHz, PC4-17000, 1.2v DDR4 SODIMM. You can use HP PartSurfer to check the other Part #'s to see the specifications.
You can use CPU-Z to find the manufacturer and timings of the current 4 GB: https://download.cnet.com/CPU-Z/3000-2086_4-10050423.html
You can find this information in the section titled "SPD". Also, here is the memory that is recommended for your laptop by Crucial Memory: https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/hp---compaq/hp-15-bs542tu
I don't know if you have access to Crucial's memory in India, but if you do, it is a very good product. If they recommend one of the products it is guaranteed to work. You can contact their Tech Support for help to make certain which is the best memory for your system.
The 2133 MHz is the basic speed for all memory modules. The BIOS must have a XMP Profile for the memory to operate at a faster speed, such as, 2400 MHz.
