Here is the Service Manual:

Manual

See p. 2.

Yours appears to have an i5 processor so there are two memory slots each of which can take an 8 gig module of DDR3L-1600 SO-DIMM memory.

See p. 46. Memory installation requires removal of the back cover, but not the motherboard. Here are the HP Part Numbers for the specific recommended 4 and 8 gig modules:

  8GB (PC3L, 12800, 1600-MHz) 693374-005

  4GB (PC3L, 12800, 1600-MHz) 691740-005

This is what the 4 gig looks like:

Note the PC3L-12800. The L means low 1.35 volts and the 12800 means the same as DDR3L-1600. You should look for modules that have 8 black blocks on the side, not 4. Post back if you need more help.

Amazon.com sells the 4 gig module here:

I'm curious what would be the consequence of installing a memory module with 4 memory chips on a side instead of your recommended 8. I currently have such a configuration in my ZBook 17 G2 and Windows is claiming that over 7GB out of 8GB is "hardware reserved" and unavailable to the OS or applications for use. Could this be the reason why?
