I'm wanting to find a CPU upgrade for my notebook and can't find a compatibility list of what will work with chipset and BIOS
i5-2450m Sandy Bridge
Socket 988b rPGA
HP 1793 Mainboard
f.0C BIOS

The only other processor that HP has published as compatible with your systemboard and chipset is:
Intel® Core® i7-2640M 2.80-GHz processor (SC turbo up to 3.40-GHz), 4.0-MB L3 cache, 1333-MHz FSB, dual core, 35 W)
My reference source is the HP Maintenence and Service guide for your notebook, which is at the link in the line below this one. see Chapter 1 page1.
