Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11

It seems my CPU is too old to run some software now.  Can someone please help me if there is some newer CPU s that will fit?  Thanks!

You're very welcome. 

 

Your notebook's chipset can only support the Intel 4th generation core processors. 

 

Notebook processors starting with the Intel 5th generation core processors are all integral parts of the motherboard, and cannot be upgraded without replacing the motherboard

See chapter 1 of the maintenance and service guide for the list of supported processors.

I don't know if the i7-4900MQ processor will provide that much of a significant performance boost.

Thanks for the speedy reply.  If the list, showing 4900, is exhaustive then level 4 will not do much.  I was hoping for level 8!
