HP Notebook - 15-ay028nf (ENERGY STAR)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello everyone,

I want to upgrade the CPU on my old PC but I don't know which CPU is compatible.

I have found answers about other PC like the hp 15 ay041wm (https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/HP-15-ay041wm-motherboard-CPU-...but I dunno if it's the same on the hp 15 ay083nf. I just want to be sure.

Thanks y all

Hi:

The processor is an integral part of the motherboard and cannot be upgraded.

In order to upgrade the processor, the entire system board would need to be replaced.

The list of supported motherboards can be found in chapter 3 of the service manual.

c05087748.pdf (hp.com)

Motherboards that come with Windows product keys have a suffix that ends in -601.

If you buy a motherboard with the discrete graphics, you will also need to buy the correct heat sink for it.

Your notebook has the onboard Intel (UMA) graphics adapter.

You will need a new heatsink if you want a motherboard with an Intel 7th gen core processor and the onboard Intel graphics adapter.
