Pavilion cd-1075
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello. I was wondering, if GPU upgrade is possible in my laptop. HP Pavilion gaming cd-1075 2021.

I know model name cd-1090 has got GTX 1660 (not sure Ti or MaxQ), no idea about chipset TU116 or another. I believe 17 inch model have same motherboard, so specs should be similar. I've read somewhere TU116 is larger than TU117 (gtx 1650), so the replace is not possible, but that would contridict motherboard specs (cd-1090 uses GTX 1660). So, is there any confirmed cases, or maybe users who can read BIOS hardware compability (my ver is F.22 3.2)?

To increase GPU frequency I tried to use MSI-afterburner, the laptop froze when I used the apply button. Not gonna try any other software to trick the factory specs. The hardware is the last chance.

Hi,

It is not possible to upgrade the GPU as it is integrated on the motherboard

You would need to replace the whole motherboard which could cost more than a new PC

On page 48 of service manual you can see a list of compatible motherboards

You will also need to replace the heatsink.

Hope it helps,

David
