Hi there,

I'm looking to upgrade the current 1TB HDD to a Samsung 860 PRO 512 GB SATA 2.5 Inch Internal Solid State Drive due to poor performance issues.

I haven't seen any posts as to whether this type of SSD is compatible with my laptop? I am currently using around 310GB of my current HDD space. Also, at this point if I am replacing the HDD is it worth me upgrading the RAM from 8GB to 16GB or will the SSD be more than adequate on its own?

Thank you

Jim

Any laptop HDD can be replaced with a SATA SSD -- as they are the same physical size and have the same connectors.

As to the RAM, you won't see any real performance gain, so either save the money or spend it on a larger SSD.
