Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, My laptop is HP Pavilion 15cs and it contains toshiba mq04abf100 hdd which 5400rpm hard disk and is very slow, heats up often and fan runs loud (I cleaned the fan and vents so dust is not an issue). I want to upgrade it to ssd.

1 - Can I upgrade this model to ssd?

2 - Is M.2 ssd compatible with is model?

3 - I am looking for samsumg 980 500gb. Will it be a good option?

Thanks in advance

You're very welcome.

According to the parts list for your notebook at the link below, it already has a 256 GB NVMe SSD installed as well as a 1 TB 2.5" mechanical hard drive.

HP PartSurfer

762990-005
1.0TB SATA hard disk drive - 5,400 RPM, 7.0mm form factor
L25328-001
SSD 256GB 2280 PCIe NVMe Value

But if the parts list is incorrect, yes since your notebook has an Intel i5-8250U Core processor, an NVMe SSD would be supported.

Hi:

What is the full model number of your notebook?

Only the 15-csXXXX models with the Intel core processors will support NVMe SSD's.

Hi Thankyou for yor response. The model number of my notebook is HP Pavilion 15-cs0020TU. So this means it is compatible? Right?
