I want to upgrade my laptop RAM, which has 4GB RAM model number HP Laptop 15q-by0xx, and I want to upgrade it. It has dual slots but I am unable to find out which type of RAM in the second slot. Please help me to find out the suitable RAM.

Max RAM for your notebook is 16GB of DDR4 2400MHz (2x8GB)

The RAM will run at 1866MHz

On page 48 of service manual you can see the steps to install the RAM

You could also replace the Hard Drive with a 2.5" SSD of your preferred brand and capacity which would give a great boost to the everyday performance of the machine
