I have two questions.  What is a max ram supported on my hp pavilion 16-a0000?  Also does it support dual storage?  I would like to add an SSD.  I could not find the maintenance and service guide online and any help is appreciated.

What is your hp pavilion 16-a0000 ? For example  HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop - 16-a0032dx, its specs

The series is new, no manual is available.  I'm using the above machine to answer your question, the specs of your machine is very close.

1. RAM: It has 8 GB DDR4-2933 SDRAM (2 x 4 GB) - both slots are occupied and supports 64GB (2x32GB) max you can upgrade to

    (a) 16GB: install 8GB each to both slots using following compatible RAM (may only run at 2933 MHz)

               https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/ct2k8g4sfra32a/ct18860680

    (b) 32GB: install 16GB each to both slots using following compatible RAM (may only run at 2933 MHz)

               https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/ct2k16g4sfd832a/ct18860721

    (c) 64GB: install 32GB each to both slots using following compatible RAM (may only run at 2933 MHz)

               https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/bl2k32g32c16s4b/ct18860754

2. STORAGE: You should be able to add 2.5" HDD/SSD but as mentioned above, no manual therefore I don't know part(s) required for adding HDD/SSD

Regards.
