Hi!
I have a Pavilion 15-cs0989nl laptop and I would like to add/upgrade SSD storage. This laptop has already a Nvme SSD (Western Digital SN520 SDAPNUW 512, that is a M.2 2280 512 GB), so the point is: is also available on motheboard (version 84BF 2.15) another M.2 Nvme slot so I can easily add a further one or should I remove the old one to upgrade it?
Where could i find a service manual (and maybe a video tutorial) with all instructions to install a Nvme SDD on my HP laptop?
Also, since I have to clone the old SSD, in case of lack of Nvme slots, I should buy a USB docking station to transfer data: has anyone try some good ones, at reasonable price?
Thanks!

Here is the Service Manual:
See p. 50 for instructions on removal of hard drive through p. 54 which covers the SSD. One M.2 slot. There is a bay for a 2.5 inch SSD which you could use to expand storage but you would need the SATA cable and mounting sled. Part numbers are listed. Best to upgrade to a larger NVME M.2 SSD. You can install any capacity available; up to 4 TB in the current market.
USB-C to NVME adapter:
Good luck.

PS: by the way, is THAT difficult to remove the back cover?
In the past I made some custom desktop pc by my own so I am not a beginner, but I am bit worried about some videos and comments about it... and that "GOOD LUCK" sounds a bit.... LOL

Good luck was sincere. Its a project I admit but doable by someone with minimal tech skills. Use a plastic pry tool and work your way around the back cover gently but firmly and it will come off. The Manual shows where the screws are located.
