HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop - 16-a0004la
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi, I need to know if it's possible to change the screen on my HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop - 16-a0004la, which by default comes with a 60Hz display. I'd like to upgrade to a screen with a higher refresh rate. Is this possible?

HP offered it with a 144hz panel:

300 nits, 144 Hz M02082-001

Would also require changing out the display cable:

For use with 144 Hz displays M02052-001

So your cable can only work with a 60 hz display panel. Swapping is theoretically possible. You might find the panel and cable for a relatively reasonable cost but if you are not a laptop technician, swapping out the cable and panel is a pretty big job and likely to cost as much or more in labor as the cost of the parts. Post back if you want help finding the parts. Good luck.
