ProBook 470 G5
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello Gals and Guys -

I was looking at a ProBook 470 G5.  It does not have the backlit keyboard.  The backlit keyboard is inexpensive and looks like an easy job, but I'm wondering if a backlit keyboard is compatible with a non-backlit machine?  I would think so, but figured I should ask before spending money on it.  Thanks for any help.

Hi,

Yes, it is possible and not to difficult to replace. You can see on page 42 of the service manual how to replace the keyboard.

Hope it helps,

Thanks for the reply.  Yeah, it looked pretty easy from the maintenance manual.  I wanted ensure it had the port for the backlight seeing as it's a separate cable/port.  Thanks again.
