Hello everyone,
I really need your help guys. I want to upgrade my HP Omen and here the condition:
- RAM
My Ram right now is 16GB from HP with code L46598-005 which means HP 8GB PC4-25600 DDR4-3200MHz = 2pcs with the latency timing is 22-22-22-52.
2. SSD
My SSD right now is 512gb
3. New RAM
Corsair VENGEANCE SO-DIMM DDR4 32GB PC25600 - CMSX32GX4M1A3200C22 with the latency timing is 22-22-22-53.
The situation is:
- I'm looking before the L46598-005 RAM, but unfortunately RAM is discontinued. So, the best option to upgrade my RAM with Corsair VENGEANCE SO-DIMM DDR4 32GB PC25600.
The Question is:
- Can I combine my oldest RAM L46598-005 8gb with Corsair VENGEANCE 32gb? So the total RAM will be 40gb. Even the last of latency timing is different 52 and 53?
- The total RAM if combine together will be 40gb. Crucial.com explain my HP Omen 16 C0099AX AMD can upgrade my RAM until 64gb maximum. But when I checked through CMD wmic memphysical get MaxCapacity, the total capacity in my HP Omen just 32gb. Which one is the truth? From Crucial.com 64gb or from CMD just 32gb?
- What is the total maximum SSD storage can be upgrade? Because i want to upgrade my SSD to the other slot 2TB. So the total will be 2.5 TB.
Thank you so much for everyone to answer my question.

That is a very probably not a good upgrade path. Best practice is for upgrading successfully to install pairs of guaranteed compatible soDIMM memory modules

From our experience in the forum with members who have the Intel Core i5 and higher, the Crucial memory 32GB upgrade is guaranteed when using their guaranteed compatible soDIMM modules.
- What is the total maximum SSD storage can be upgrade? Because i want to upgrade my SSD to the other slot 2TB. So the total will be 2.5 TB. AFAIK, there are two M.2 slots and one is only for WLAN and the other one is for M.2 PCIe NVMe storage devices. To upgrade your SSD storage capacity you would have to replace the current drive with one that has a higher capacity and also consider using an external SSD plugged into a USB port.
Thank you so much for everyone to answer my question.
