I would like to upgrade the RAM and SSD on my laptop, the HP Pavilion x360 14-cd0008na
It currently has 8 GB RAM and 256 GB SSD storage. I am looking to upgrade to 16 GB ram and at least 512 GB, preferably more, of SSD storage.
I understand that I have a free RAM slot and upgrading that is fairly straightforward, but I'd still like to know if there are any compatibility issues that I need to watch out for, and what my steps are to upgrade.
I am completely lost with regard to SSD, however. I have heard that some laptops need specific connector parts, do I need this for my laptop? Is it similarly SSD 'slots', or will I replace one with a new one? If I am replacing, how do I transfer my files from one SSD to the other, and will my licensed software(s), as well as Windows 10 itself, be transferred easily as well? I would really need a full step-by-step guide for SSD upgrade for this laptop if one is available.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
After reading your post, I did go through the Product specifications of your product and found that you have 256 GB PCIe®NVMe™M.2 SSD installed on the PC.
And your computer supports up to 12-GB of system memory. See the below storage configuration:
