HP Pavilion X360 15-br013na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

HP Pavilion X360 15-br013na Laptop, Intel Pentium, 4GB RAM, 1TB HDD, 15.6”, Full HD, Silver

I have had this machine for a year now and it isn’t running well at all. So I want to upgrade:

- RAM from 4gb to 8GB

- Storage by adding a second drive, SSD to the m.2 slot

I was hoping someone with experience here could help me understand:

1) what is the limit fin RAM I can upgrade to on this machine?

2) do I have to use 2x4gb ram or can I just purchase a single 8gb?

3) can this processor handle both the HDD as storage and the SSD m.2 running windows

4) is this device even compatible or has a free slot for the m.2 ssd

finally, am I better off just selling into and buying a better laptop? Or isn’t this achievable for someone with some YouTube guides?

thank you advance, apprreciate any help/advice/tips

  1. For RAM: It has two SODIMM memory module slots, non-customer-accessible/non-upgradable.  Supports up to 16-GB of system memory DDR4-2133 dual channel support (DDR4-2400 downgrade to DDR4-2133). You can use 2x4GB (better, using dual channels) or 1x 8GB (running single channel).
  2. For M.2 SSD: your machine use Intel Pentium process and the manual says: Support for M.2 SATA solid-state drive (support for storage function, port 1; not available on computer models equipped with an Intel Pentium processor) therefore your machine has no slot for M.2 SSD

Regards.
