Hi
Can I upgrade RAM on my laptop "HP Pavilion x360 - 14-ba253cl" from 8 GB to 16 GB? If so, which specific RAM is compatible with the laptop and should I go with a single new 16 GB RAM or can I add another 8 GB RAM to the existing one? Please advise.

Hi:
Yes, you can install an 8 GB memory chip in the empty memory slot.
I recommend one of these...
Crucial 8GB DDR4-2400 SODIMM | CT8G4SFS824A | Crucial.com
2 x 8 GB of memory will run in the better performing dual channel mode rather than the single channel mode it is currently running in now with the existing memory chip or a 16 GB memory chip--assuming one would work, since the manual indicates 12 GB is the max, which I believe is incorrect.
If the notebook can support an 8 GB memory chip in one slot, then it can support an 8 GB memory chip in the other one.
Below is the link to the service manual where you can find the memory removal and replacement procedure.
