HI, would it be possible to upgrade RAM to 8GB in my HP 2000 Notebook PC Laptop. What would be the estimated cost to upgrade RAM from 4 GB to 8 GB?

Hi:

If you are running a 32 bit operating system as your post indicates, the max memory that would work is 4 GB.

You would have to install a 64 bit operating system in order for it to be worthwhile to install 2 x 4 GB of memory.

What would be the total charges of installing 64 bit OS and upgrading RAM to 8 GB.

Unfortunately, that I would not know.

HP won't do the work, so if aren't going to do the work yourself (installing a 64 bit operating system would be free if you have the 64 bit installation media), it depends on what you would have to pay for memory in India.

If your notebook currently has 4 GB of memory installed in one slot, all you would need to do is to add a second 4 GB memory chip.

If you do not plan on doing the work yourself, you would have to get an estimate from your local PC repair shop.
