Hi There,
Im currently running a CAD software on my laptop. This is very heavy on the RAM.
I constantly receive error messages that I'm out of ram and I should shut down asap.
I would need to upgrade my ram from8Gigs to the max possible.
Can anybody tell me what I need to do so and how can I do it?

No. Stay away from the HyperX or other gaming or performance memory. Not needed and best case will just run exactly like standard OEM memory such as Crucial. In some cases the more aggressive timings of gaming memory will keep it from working with HP laptops.

Please tell us the specific model or product number. Then we can tell you the maximum memory, how to install it and where to buy it. Odds are the max is either 16 or 32 gb. RAM is part of what you need for CAD work but you also need a good dedicated video card and if you do not have that adding more RAM will be of very limited benefit.

Here are the specs, which pretty much tell the story:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06043005
You have two memory slots and can use DDR4-2666 or DDR4-2400 SO-DIMM up to a pair of 16 gig modules. So total of 32 gigs max. You do have the nVidia MX150 dedicated graphics. Not great for gaming, but good enough to do CAD work. 32 gigs is not listed in the Manual but well established beyond dispute it will work.
Pages 27-34 of the Manual show "how to". Memory is under the "L" shaped heat shield.
Post back with any more questions and please accept as solution if this is the info you needed.
