Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I would like to upgrade the SSD from 256 GB to 1TB for my laptop HP Pavilion Gaming - 15-dk0047tx, and I'm choosing this model Samsung 980 1TB Up to 3,500 MB/s PCIe 3.0 NVMe M.2 (2280) Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) (MZ-V8V1T0) to upgrade.  Will it work

You are saying it has 256 GB M.2 SSD already, that is a bonus. You can upgrade 256GB to 1TB or 2TB using

                https://www.samsung.com/au/memory-storage/970-evo-nvme-m2-ssd/MZ-V7E2T0BW/

                https://www.crucial.com/products/ssd/crucial-p5-ssd

          Or similar from reputable vendors.

 

You can use Samsung 980 but it won't run at that speed.
