Hi,
The following link shows specs of your computer:
Please use the following manual:
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05128309.pdf
From page 33, the book will tell you the right part number and how to replace M.2 SSD
Few people said they could use larger (capacity, up to 1TB) but to be safe only use the one listed on the manual or use Device Manager to find the right brand and buy the same (larger 512GB). I believe it is from SanDisk (my loan machine is) but please check before buy.
Regards.

Thanks for you help!! A perfect solution!
The disk in my machine is Samsung NVMe MZVLV256. In particular, it is NVMe, which is the newest M.2 and not compatible with the older versions, but blazing fast (and expensive). It is available as Samsung 950 PRO, $318 for 512GB as of 8/9/2016 at Amazon.
You can find the version of drive by right-clicking the drive in Windows Explorer (on Win 10) selecting Properties and then clicking the Hardware tab.
