Hi:

There is only one antenna wire in your notebook for the Realtek Wi-Fi card.

A Wi-Fi 6 card will require two antenna wires to work properly.

If you want to go through the work to add a second antenna wire, which would require ordering the dual antenna kit listed in chapter 3 of your notebook's service manual, completely disassembling the notebook including the display bezel to install it, you should be able to upgrade to this model Wi-Fi card:

Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 ax 2×2 + Bluetooth 5.0 MU-MIMO M.2 2230 non-vPro   HP part # / SPS #L35282-005

I suppose you could add a generic M.2 Wi-Fi antenna and figure out someplace else to install it, but I can't help you with that.

There is only one Wi-Fi 5 card you can install without the need to add a second antenna wire and that is this one:

Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11 ac 1x1 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.2 Combo Adapter (MU-MIMO supported) HP part # L17365-005.

The card has a maximum throughput of 433 MBPS on the 5.0 GHz Wi-Fi band with an AC router and an excellent signal.

Below is the link to the service manual:

HP Notebook PC (Intel) * Models: 15-ay000 – 15-ay099 * Models: 15-ay100 – 15-ay199HP 250 G5 Notebook...

You're very wecome.

The Realtek RTL8723BE card indeed has two antenna terminals, but only needs one wire to be connected to them.

The service manual shows two antenna wires because some of the 15-ay notebooks come with the Intel 3165 AC or Intel 3168 AC Wi-Fi cards and those come with two antenna wires.

I guarantee you that if you remove the back cover and physically inspect the Wi-Fi adapter, you will find but one Wi-Fi antenna wire connected to the RTL8723BE card.

So, my original reply stands...if you want to install the Intel AX200 you will need to add a second antenna wire to your notebook one way or the other.

If you want to just do a simple Wi-Fi card remove and replace upgrade, then get the RTL8821CE.

so that i can only replacement with

Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11 ac 1x1 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.2 Combo Adapter (MU-MIMO supported) HP part # L17365-005.

and support 5 GHz

after I complete the replacement where do I need to install the driver?

Yes, if you want to just do a simple swap of the Wi-Fi card, the RTL8821CE is the only one that will work properly with one antenna wire, just as the RTL 8723BE is now.

The card will only have one antenna terminal to connect to so there can be no mistake as to which one you connect the wire to.

W10 should automatically install the drivers but they will not be the latest ones.

These are the latest W10 Wi-Fi and Bluetooth drivers for the RTL8821CE:
