I got this now 8 year old laptop. Still functions okay, but the Wi-Fi is painfully slow. I see it is an RTL8723DE in an M.2 slot. The card is smaller than the slot. I guess that is an 16x30mm?
What type of key slot is supported for that? I would like to upgrade to 802.11AX.
Thanks!

Hi:
If your notebook has the RTL8723DE Wi-Fi adapter, then there is only one Wi-Fi antenna wire.
A Wi-Fi 6 card would require two antenna wires in order to work properly.
You can do a direct swap from the RTL8723DE card to this dual band AC card which can work with only one antenna wire.
Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11ac 1 × 1 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.2 Combo Adapter (MU-MIMO supported) HP part # L17365-005.
If you want to go through the extra work to add a second antenna wire, then this dual band Wi-Fi 6 card should work:
Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 ax 2×2 + Bluetooth 5.0 MU-MIMO M.2 2230 non-vPro 160 MHz PCI-e + USB WW with 2 antenna(s) HP part # L35282-005
