Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Hi,

I have an HP ProBook 4540s as follows:

CPU Type                        Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-2370M CPU @ 2.40GHz

Motherboard Name      17F6 KBC Version 58.1A

Chipset Mobile Intel HM76 chipset

Graphics Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000

System Memory      4GB Hynix/Hyundai 1333MHz

BIOS   68IRR Ver. F.01

My questions are: Can I upgrade the memory by installing 2x8 Gb? The manual writes a maximum of 8 gigabytes.

Is it better to upgrade to 8192 (4096 × 2) type 1333-MHz, DDR3 ?

What kind of SSD is suitable for this Laptop?

Hi:

For some reason that PC has a slight problem running 2 x 8 GB of memory.

You can refer to this discussion to see what you have to do to fix the problem.

Otherwise, you can install 2 x 4 GB of memory as specified in chapter 1 of the service manual.

ok, what do you recommend with an SSD drive (capacity, form factor)?

Your only option would be the 2.5" x 7.0 mm size.

250 GB to 1 TB depending on your storage needs and budget.

The Western Digital Blue SA510 2.5" models have the best performance for the price in most countries.

I read the forum, users write that the i3 processor can handle 16 GB of RAM. hope my i3 will do as well.
