Very hard to upgrade laptops specially the dv6-61xx series

  1. For CPU: you need new motherboard and new CPU, your existin motherboard won't help much and this is a very expensive upgrade.
  2. For RAM: It supports 8GB max, currently it has 6GB, you can throw away 2B and buy 4GB to make 6GB. The cost/performace in this case is very small, unnoticebale.
  3. Wireless card: Your machine was built around May 2011 the chance to upgrade wireless card is very slim to none. You can use the following list
  • Atheros 9485GN 802.11b/g/n 1×1 WiFi and 3012 Bluetooth 4.0 Combo Adapter 655795-001
  • Broadcom 4313 802.11b/g/n 1×1 WiFi and 2070 Bluetooth 2.1+EDR Combo adapter (BT3.0+HS ready) 600370-001
  • Broadcom 4313 802.11b/g/n 1×1 WiFi Adapter 593836-001
  • Broadcom 4313GN 802.11b/g/n 1×1 WiFi and 20702 Bluetooth 4.0 Combo Adapter 657325-001

  • Ralink 5390GN 802.11b/g/n 1×1 WiFi Adapter 630703-001
