HP ENVY x360 Convertible 15-bp0xx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello community,

I have a HP ENVY x360 Convertible 15-bp0xx with default installed disks: 128GB SSD + 1TB SATA and I would like to upgrade the SSD disk to a higher capacity (512GB or 1TB).

Is it possible ?

Thanks in advance for your support !

You're very welcome, Amine.

Yes, you should be able to remove the 128 GB M.2 SSD and install a 1 TB M.2 SSD.

The capacities listed in the service manual, are just what HP offered in the model series, not the absolute maximum drive capacity.

So yes...you can have the 1 TB 2.5" mechanical hard drive, and a 1 TB M.2 SSD.

Hi:

See chapter 1 of the service manual for the supported drive types.

HP ENVY x360 15m Convertible PC Maintenance and Service GuideIMPORTANT! This document is intended fo...

HP offered M.2 SSD's up to 512 GB, so you should be able to install a 500 GB or 1 TB SSD with no problem.

You should also make a note of what type of SSD HP installed because it looks like you can install a faster NVMe SSD in your notebook if it only came with a SATA M.2 SSD.

And if it already came with a NVMe SSD, then naturally you would want to replace it with a NVMe SSD.

HI Paul and Thanks for your reply !

If I understood your response correctly, I can upgrade my 128GB SSD drive with 1TB (2 x 512GB) SSD drives so I suppose my notebook have 2 SSD slots right ?

What about the 1TB SATA hard drive ? can I keep it while upgrading the SSDs ? The question in other words: can I have 1 TB SSD (2 x 512GB) AND 1 TB Hard drive SATA ?

Thanks again for your support

You're very welcome.

Not quite.

Your notebook only has one M.2 slot, so you would have to remove the 128 GB SSD and install one having a larger capacity.

You would have the same configuration you have now...(2.5" drive + a larger capacity SSD).

Thank you again for your quick answer! I really appreciate 🙂

Actually, what confused me is when you said: "HP offered M.2 SSD's up to 512 GB, so you should be able to install a 500 GB or 1 TB SSD with no problem". Does it mean that I can install only SSD drives having maximum 512GB ? If yes, how can I have 1 TB SSD ?

For the 1TB hard drive it will be kept as is. am I correct ?

Thanks again

Hello again Paul,

I know that this post is marked as solved but after reviewing the product sheet you sent me, I'm not sure if my laptop will support 1TB NVMe SSD or not. Can you please help me figure out if I can install 1TB SSD or not ? I don't want to buy an expensive 1TB NVMe disk which won't work for my laptop 🙂

Thanks again.

And for more details, my laptop exact model is: 15-bp005nk.

Thanks

Amine
