Hello,
I currently have a Pavilion 15, code E046SF, processor Intel Pentium 2020M, socket G2.
Memory upgraded to 8 Gb, initially 4 Gb, 1600 Mhz.
BIOS version F28
Does anybody have a list of compatible processors for the motherboard, in order to upgrade the slow 2020M?
Thank you,

There is no upgradeable CPU info?
I was thinking of an i7 - 3632QM as I found one on the cheap (30 Eur). Does anybody have any idea if the motherboard will accept it? is there something more powerful than this one which might be compatible with it?

Right, no answer so far so I'll try to nuance the question a bit and help somebody which might have the info I'm searching for:
Given that in my E046SF laptop I have a motherboard with an Intel HM76 Express chipset which by default supports the following CPUs here:
http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-Intel_(chipsets)/HM76_Express.html
And I have a list of CPUs which we know for sure entered in the HP Pavilion 15 series, as seen in the screnshot bellow (taken from the HP support documentation)
And I obviously elliminate the AMD CPus, as well as the intel 4702MQ (not supported by the HM76 chipset, supported only by the HM86)
THEN
cand somebody say these CPUs (2020, 2030, 3130, 3230, 3632) are the only ones that properly fit a HP Pavilion 15 series? is there an embedded HP option which will reject any other CPU other than the ones listed above? or will the motherboard accept other 3rd generation I3/I5/I7 as well? for instance a 3635QM, a 3360M, and so on and so forth...
Waiting your answer,

So still no answer.
Ok then, based on instinct and personal researches I'll buy an i7- 3520m (1600 Mhz FSB, socket G2 compatible, 35 W TDP, 22 nm, compatible with Intel H76 Express chipset, all of these identical to the 2020M specs - of course, higher internal clock and L1/L2 cache).
All availableinfo point out the motherboard should be able to handle it, unless there's some malicious HP blocking policy due to the processor not being known/used for this particular HP laptop series.
Since I'm paying only 28 Eur for the processor, I can risk it and resell it for the same price or even a small profit in case it doesn't match the motherboard. Though I would have surely appreciated some sort of responses and guidelines beforehand.
My only regret was that the 3632QM got sold in the meantime.
Oh well, on with the show; I'll let you know what happens.
