Hi,

Will DDR4 3200MHz memory work in the 5CD9415Z02 laptop? I would like to upgrade to 2x16GB 3200MHz, but I currently have 2x8GB 2666MHz. Unfortunately, I can't find any information anywhere about whether this frequency will be compatible.

Hi:

You can install DDR4-3200 CL22 memory in your notebook, but it is only going to run at 2666 MHz because that is as fast as your notebook's Intel® Core™ i5 9300H processor can run the memory at.

Does latency (CL16, CL19, CL22) matter?
In that case, there's no point in overpaying for 3200MHz; it's better to go with 2666MHz, CL16, if latency isn't an issue.

It usually does, because you can't adjust the memory XMP in the BIOS, so if the PC can't make the adjustment automatically, the notebook won't boot, or the memory will run awful.

I am pretty sure that HP installed DDR4-2666 CL19 memory chips in your notebook, so if you install DDR4-2666 MHz CL16 memory, you are taking a gamble.
