Dear All,
I am planning to upgrade my HDD to SSD from Hitachi HTS725050A9A364 to WD Blue SA510 500gb. My PC is getting into 100%CPU Spikes very often and think SSD would help here.
My System specs are :
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2410M CPU @ 2.30GHz 2.30 GHz
Installed RAM 4.00 GB
Please let me know whether the WD SSD would be compatible with this specs and would help me run my old laptop smoother. Awaiting for your help here.

For all intents and proposes -no: SATA specifications provide backward compatibility. Whatever your laptop's SATA gen, it will run at its best performance.
All SATA 3 (6.0 Gbps) drives are specified to be downward compatible with SATA 2 (3 Gbps) and SATA 1 (1.5 Gbps). This means you should be able to use any SATA SSD drive in any machine with a SATA connection.
In a nutshell: you are A-OK.
Btw, I assume you know how to clone your HDD to your new SSD?
Kind Regards,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!
Yes, switching from an HDD to an SSD will help a lot. And yes, a Western Digital 500 GB WD Blue SA510 SATA SSD is compatible with your laptop.
But looking at your specs, you really should upgrade your RAM to 2 x 4GB of DDR3 PC3-12800, 1600 MHz, Non-ECC, Unbuffered, SODIMM, 204-pin RAM sticks.
Hope this was helpful.

Thanks for your swift reply. One last thing i would like to confirm is that there are few articles i've read saying difference between old SATA and new SATA, would this impact my upgrade?
Appreciate your response on this to help me figure out my upgrade suitably.

I have been very pleased with the freeware Macrium 8 Free cloning software you can download from here ("Download Free"): https://www.macrium.com/reflectfree. Here's a useful YouTube tutorial how to use Macrium: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQ9jQd-SeJw.
