Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a HP 15-da0000na 15.6-inch Laptop (i7-8550U CPU/8GB/250GB/2TB/Windows 10/Integrated Graphics). I want to add

WD BLACK SN770 1TB SSD M.2 2280 NVME PCI-E GEN4 SOLID STATE DRIVE

Is this SSD compatible with my laptop??

Hi:

 

The drive will work, but only at the PCIe Gen 3 speed, since that is the PCIe revision of your notebook's M.2 slot.

 

You will find some other disappointing results after you install any NVMe SSD...

 

Apparently, the M.2 slot is PCIe Gen 3 x 2, and not Gen 3 x 4, which means a NVMe Gen 3 SSD will run at approximately one half of its maximum advertised read/write speeds.

 

The good news is that is still around 3 times faster than any SATA SSD can provide.
