HP620
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hi, please help me. I have HP620 with memory 2Gb and Windows 7 64-bit. From internet I know that i have 2 slots and maximum 8Gb memory. Current memory is hynex HMT 325S6BFR8C-H9N0A PC3-10600S-9-10-B1 1Rx8. It works.

Maybe someone had experience if i could buy 2 memories 4 Gb to replace the 2Gb. Do i need to change anything in BIOS that new memory works. I tried kingston 4Gb PC3-12800 CL11 204 Pin Sodimm and had black monitor.

The maximum supported memory for your HP 620 is 4GB (2 Slots).  You can pick up a compatible 4GB kit (2x2GB) from Crucial Memory here:  http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/HP---Compaq/hp-620

Hi,

I don't know where you get the information from but from the book the HP 620 has

2 customer-accessible/upgradable memory module slots. Supports dual-channel memory
Supports up to 4 GB of system RAM
PC3-10600, 1333-MHz, DDR3

That means it supports 2GB + 2GB using:

2-GB (PC3-10600, 1333-MHz, DDR3) part number is 598856-001

or you can try 2 x 4GB

4-GB (PC3-10600, 1333-MHz, DDR3)  part number 599092-002

Note: This type of machine required propwer RAM, please use same specs as the existing RAM (different capacity), even same brand.

For other question: BIOS should pickup automatically but Windows may not pick up and we can fix this.

Regards.

Thank you for your answer.

Do you know is it important to memory stick 1Rx8 or 2Rx8? I saw both DDR3.

Is it compatible with motherboard HP 1526 KBC version 71.0D Bios 68PVI ver f09.

Should I buy only 1Rx8 memory stick?
