I have tried so far unsuccessfully to upgrade my HP Spectre X360 `13-in 2019 edition notebook to 2TB storage. I tried installing HP's EX950 2TB NVMe SSD module, but discovered that it was thicker than the 1TB module it came with, thick enough that it wouldn't fit under the heast-dissipating tin shroud that covers the module. Are all modules in this category the same thickness? Is it impossible to upgrade my Spectre to 2TB?

Certainly,
Product Description: HP Spectre x360 - 13-aw0023dx
Product Number: 7PS48UA
As I said, there's no room under the metal heat-dissipating cover (assuming that's what it's for), IF the 2TB NVMe card is a layer of chips thicker than the 1TB NVMe card.

Thank you for the information.
I have checked the manual.
Solid-state drive: ● 2-TB, 2280, peripheral component interconnect express-3×4 (PCIe), non-volatile memory express (NVMe), Secure Seal (SS) solid-state drive with three-layer cell (TLC)
2-TB, PCIe, NVMe, solid-state drive with TLC L71983-001
I would suggest you contact our phone support and check for the support option. They will help you.
Here is how you can get in touch with phone support.
1)Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/
2)Select the product type.
3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.
4)Select the country from the drop-down.
5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.
We are experiencing longer than expected wait times to reach an agent due to the CoViD-19 impact and there might have been issues in you getting the expected resolution on the issue.
Have a nice day!!

I had already contacted support about this, and I in fact purchased a copy of the HP drive with the specs you quoted from the manual. Here's the link from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MZFJ8FH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. Problem is, the actual drive doesn't fit in the actual laptop unless I am willing to discard the (heat-dissipating?) metal cover, which I am not willing to do. The drive is too thick. So unless I can hear from someone in support who has actually done this WITH THE 2019 EDTION Spectre X360 (Spectre x360 - 13-aw0023dx) or unless I can hear from someone in the user community who has done this, and they can tell me which 2TB NVMe drive model and part number to buy, I'm giving it up for now.

In that case, I would suggest you contact the local service center and check. They will help you.
