Hello,
I have the following computer: Pavilion 15-Ak003ng and i want to upgrade my SSD that is the original one that came with the notebook (128GB M.2). I was wondering if NVME SSD M.2 is the best choice to go because of the speed that delivers or a SATA SSD M.2 can make the "job" like the one i have originally i guess. I also have a question about wich version of the M.2 is compatible with my PC (M.2 2280 or M.2 2242)?
For know i have this 2 picks to upgrade my original SSD (NVME and SATA):
-> SSD M.2 2280 Western Digital Blue 500GB 3D NAND SATA
-> SSD M.2 2280 PNY XLR8 CS3030 500GB 3D TLC NVMe

Hi:
Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.
HP Pavilion Gaming Notebook Maintenance and Service Guide
According to chapter 1 of the manual, only SATA M.2 SSD's are supported, not NVMe.
SInce you are limited to SATA drives only, I would go with the Western Digital Blue 500GB 3D NAND SATA.
IMHO, that drive provides the best performance for the price as far as SATA drives go.
If you google the part numbers for the SSD's listed in chapter 3 of the manual, you will see that they are M.2 2280.
For example...128 GB, value 832794-001
