Hi, I recently came across this beauty of a laptop. Its model is hp pavillion dv6 , model - 1127ee, s/n:CNF9232LVS.
I want to upgrade this beauty and give it a new life. But I want to know it's current specifications and upto what limit I could upgrade. I tried hp's current website, but the product is shown retired. So I wasn't able to know it's specifications.
Does it support windows 10?
Can I upgrade Ram?
Can I upgrade HDD to sata SSD?
Kindly help me
Thanks in advance.

Hi:
Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.
Chapter 1 has the memory upgrade information.
Your notebook supports 2 x 4 GB of DD2-6400 memory, which would be pretty expensive to buy nowadays.
You should be able to replace the 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SATA SSD, but since the drive controller is only SATAII, a SATA III SSD will not run at its maximum advertised read/write speeds.
Your notebook may be able to run W10 but you would have to pay a lot of money for a W10 license and product key.
Microsoft has ended all free upgrades to W10 last month.
You can expect some things not to work properly on W10 such as the audio.
That is why it is not worth paying for a W10 license.
I would just use it as is unless you want to install more memory, because if you install a SSD, unless you clone Vista to the new SSD (and hope the clone works), you will have to buy a new OS.
