If I install Acronis Disk Director onto my desktop to clone my laptop's 128GB SSD I'm assuming I hook-up the old and new SSD drives to the desktop.  Do I need any special cables and other hardware?   I'm not a computer geek, sorry.

I've decided to go with the  BP5e 480Gb m2 ssd.

I replaced my laptop's fan so I'm familiar with dismantling the laptop.  HP sure didn't make it easy with this model.

Thanks again for your assist.

No doubt. An access panel would have been really nice. And yes you need to hook both drives up at the same time. The computer only has one M2 socket. So, if your 120 gigabyte SSD is already installed in the M2 socket you would need to buy an external M2 socket. Or if you have a small spare SATA hard drive or SSD (an external USB hard drive would probably also work) could clone it to that then remove your 128gb (keep it as a backup) and install your new 480gb SSD and then clone from the eSATA back to your 480 gig m.2 SSD
