So I have a HP ENVY 15-aq100 x360 Convertible PC and I want to upgrade the ram, I saw that the specification of laptop has ddr4 Samsung 8gb ram 2133 mhz, the problem is do I have to get the same one or can I use a different type for example crucial ddr4, also can the ram have higher mhz like 2400 mhz or has to be the same one

Hi:

It will be fine to use a compatible DDR4-2400 MHz memory chip.

It will automatically bridge to 2133 MHz which is the fastest speed your notebook's processor can run the memory at.

How to know if its compatible? Also sooo there is no limit mhz?

I wouldn't go beyond DDR4-2666, but they do have DDR4-2400 memory for sale.

In link its picture of part of the manual were it states that "support for ddr4 2133 dual channel", what does that mean?, that's why I'm confused. Could you explain that? Does that mean no higher than 2133mhz

It means that the processor cannot run the memory any faster than 2133 MHz.

When you install faster memory such as DDR4-2400, or DDR4-2666, it automatically bridges to 2133 MHz to match the processors FSB speed.

That is why the faster memory works.

It's probably very difficult to find DDR4-2133 memory today.
