Hello,

I have an:

“HP - Victus 15.6" Full HD Gaming Laptop - AMD Ryzen 5-7535HS - 8GB DDR5 Memory - AMD Radeon RX 6550M - 512GB SSD - Mica Silver“
which I would love to expand the space, without having a bulky external hard drive sitting outside of it. I more so want to expand it internally. (i know nothing abt computers but i did install an extra RAM so I feel i’m qualified enough haha) i wanted to know if i upgrade am i forced to replace the one I have that came with it and lose all my data on it? Or is there a space to add another. I also wanted to ask what exact type of expansion card I would need. Thank you!!

The model is 15-fb2063dx. This model only has one drive bay, so if you want to upgrade, you must remove the previous drive and you can install any size you want: 1 TB, 2 TB, 4 TB, or more.

You can download the original operating system using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool.

Will i lose all my data taking out the old one and putting in a new SSD?

HP Recommended

Yes, of course, you can clone the disk. This allows you to avoid losing data, but you will need to purchase a USB adapter for NVME disks, put the new disk there, and then clone it.
