I currently have a AMD A9-9425 RADEON R5, 5 COMPUTE CORES 2C+3G 3.10 GHz processor in my laptop and feel it isn't cutting it anymore. I am curious if I can upgrade the CPU, or is the CPU embedded in the motherboard itself? If it can be upgraded what CPU can the existing motherboard support, or does this need to be upgraded as well?

Hi:
The processor is an integral part of the motherboard and cannot be upgraded unless you replace the motherboard with one listed in chapter 3 of your notebook's service manual that may come with a better processor.

Performing such an upgrade assuming you can find the parts you need, is normally very expensive and is not a good return on investment.
