I need to increase the RAM in this Notebook in the interest of increasing my operating process speed while reducing operational failures by eliminating or at least significantly reducing virtual memory process demands.  I understand that I should be able to increase RAM in Win8 and Win10, X64 systems to 128GB.

In researching RAM Laptop (SODIMMs) that will apparently meet my needs, I find the following:

ref: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16820148614

Crucial 16GB (2 x 8G) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3L 1600 (PC3L 12800) Laptop Memory Model CT2KIT102464BF160B

        Capacity                            16GB (2 x 8G)

        Type                                   204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM

         Speed                                DDR3L 1600 (PC3L 12800)

         CAS Latency                    11

         Voltage                             1.35V

         ECC                                      No

         Buffered/Registered    Unbuffered

         Multi-channel Kit           Dual Channel Kit

         Heat Spreader                 No

Pin Plating                        Gold (per illustration view)

I am a self-taught amateur in this area.  My questions are:

  1. Am I correct in assuming this Dual Channel Kit is compatible to upgrade the RAM in my Laptop?
  2. If not, why not?
  3. If so, will the RAM be recognized automatically or what manual adjustments to the BIO will be necessary?
