You should be fine to upgrade to the P8700.

 

The T4200, T4300 and P8700 are all in the same processor family.

Why HP didn't list the T4300 in the manual, unfortunately, that I do not know.

Hi:

 

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.   The supported processors can be found in chapter 1.

Now this is very important...I know you posted that your notebook has the Intel PM45 chipset.

 

But some models come with the GL40 chipset which cannot run processors with an FSB greater than 800 MHz.

 

So you have to know for a fact that your notebook has the PM45 chipset in order to upgrade to one of the processors with a 1066 MHz FSB.

 

I have zipped up and attached a free utility below, that should report exactly what chipset you notebook has.

I  already saw also and the manual .I m wondering why my prosessor Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU T4300 @ 2.10GHz  is not at this list.Is this OK ?
