To get the answer to this question, your using ATI RADEON XPRESS  or Nvidia Geforce card and upgrade options not available for this unit.

No it's not Ati Raedon on it, it's a Nvidia Geforce Go 7400 graphic card and an Intel Centrino Duo CPU.

After reading your post, I did go through the production spec Pavilion dv5000  of your product and found that you can install upgraded graphic card.

Please use this link to find correct product information: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824 there are several products listed under this model number.

If you can tell me where exactly you find wich card I can put on it? Cause I have search my product on the website here and don't find it. Also there a few dv5000, that's seem a familly and that certainly explain why the first reply talking about an ATI GPU instead of Nvidia Geforce Go. Also under my laptop here I have a serial number and a specific number about dv5xxx:

Product: HP Pavillion dv5000

s/n: CND6330DVG

p/n: RE287EA#UUG

dv5285ea

Here it's all the numbers writed on the panel under the laptop.

Thank you for posting back.

In your first post the product details was incomplete, most of the dv5000 series laptop goes with ATI GPU and Nvidia GeForce. In order to upgrade the graphic card you can visit local computer store.

  • Note: your product is no longer supported by HP.

I would suggest instead upgrading the graphic card on this old computer you can go for a new model which comes with new latest hardware.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

In these scenarios, I won't be able to tell you that as mentioned earlier they are not tested by HP and may not be accurate.
