Hello everyone

 

I'm looking to upgrade my wireless adapter to 5ghz instead of the 2.4ghz my laptop is currently using, however, I'm not certain which wifi cards are compatible with my laptop. Right now it's running a Realtek RTL8723DE 802.11b/g/n PCIe adapter. Does anyone know or have a link to a compatible wireless adapter for my laptop? It's running a Ryzen 7 CPU if that's of any importance.

Yes, there is one model wifi adapter you can upgrade to, and that is this one...

 

Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.2 Combo Adapter (MU-MIMO supported) HP part # L17365-005.

 

You can find this model on eBay, or Ali Express. 

 

I see some Intel 3165 cards listed on the eBay listings, so don't buy those.

RTL8821CE - Buy RTL8821CE with free shipping on AliExpress

 

On the Ali Express listings, make sure the card has the HP Part # of 915620-001

Here are the links to the latest Wifi and Bluetooth drivers for the RTL8821CE.

 

Wifi:

Bluetooth:

 

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp113001-113500/sp113256.exe

 

W10 should install some older drivers automatically, and then if you want, you can update to the ones above.
