Trying to determine whether my Elitebook can support an upgrade to W10, and whether HP has the requisite drivers. I went to https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05195282 to search, and didn't see my laptop listed
- but I'm also not sure when I purchased it. There is a box on teh page that reads, "If you are not sure when your PC was purchased, please check the Windows 10 April 2018 Update table to see if HP has tested your device for this update." However, HP provides no link to that table, and a search of both HP and the Internet turns up nothing. I'm ticked at HP Support for telling me to go somewhere without a link, and that apparently doesn't exist -- but does anyone have any suggestions for exploring my laptop's compatibility with W10 any further? Thanks

The big issue is which video card does your Elitebook have. nVidia Quadro (which one?) or AMD (ATI) Firepro? That will be the deciding factor. There are workable drivers for all the other hardware for sure. The nVidia and ATI cards used in that model are troublesome with Windows 10 but by now workaround drivers are posted out there.
Your best OS for that machine is Windows 7, but with some effort you can get Windows 10 working.

This driver direct from nVidia is specified to work.

The rest of the drivers will likely be installed natively by Windows 10, with the possible exception of audio and wifi and HP function drivers like hard drive protection and hotkeys. We can help with those on a one by one basis.

Hi, @Twigs
Your notebook, since it was made before the 2013 W10 cutoff date, is not supported by HP for W10, which is why it is not listed.
You can determine the date of manufacture by looking at the 4th, 5th and 6th characters of the serial number, which will always be numbers. The 4th is the year of manufacture 0 - 9. The 5th and 6th charcters will be 01 - 52, the calendar week of manufacture. For example, if the 4th, 5th and 6th characters are 012, then the notebook was made in the 12 calendar week of 2010.
If you need help finding any drivers, use the W7 drivers from the support page for items such as the fingerprint reader, SD card reader and, use this one for the 3D driveguard.

I don't know if the fingerprint reader will work with W10, but if you plan on trying to use it, you would have to use the W10 client security software.

I have older HP business notebooks than yours and they run W10 just fine. I don't use the fingerprint scanner to log in to Windows.
What really surprised me is the ancient HP Bluetooth module works on W10.
