Can it be upgrade from 4gb to 16g

No, this is not possible. The model only have 1 memory slot and it supports either 4 GB or 8 GB RAM chips.

The memory should be DDR3L-1600

 

If you decide to buy from HP, visit the HP Parts Surfer website >> https://partsurfer.hp.com/search.aspx

The 8 GB RAM chip is available.

 

You may check the official service manual for guide how to actually replace the RAM chip >> http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04644008
