I am currently looking into upgrading my wifi card. I currently have a Broadcom wireless N card. This card is so unriable, it constantly drops the signal, slow, and generally stinks. I have been looking all over the net, and have had various answers to this, but none consistent. Some say the only tested upgrade, you can use is the 3165 ac, but that it also has connection problems. While others say you you can either us the 3165 ac, or 7165ac. I would just like to know a definitive answer to this, to avoid any compatibility problems.

You can use
- Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265 802.11 ac 2x2 WiFi + BT 4.0 Combo Adapter (non vPRO) part # 784644-005
- Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + BT 4.0 Combo Adapter part # 806723-005
First choice is the 3165.
Regards.

Hi, @DustBain
Most likely there is only one wifi antenna cable connected to the Broadcom M.2 wifi card your PC comes with.
If that is the case, the Bluetooth on the Intel cards won't work because those cards require two antenna cables in order to work properly.
If your notebook has one antenna wire, this is the only card that you can use where both the wifi and bluetooth will work.
Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.2 Combo Adapter (MU-MIMO supported) HP part # L17365-005.
You can find this model on eBay, or Ali Express,
https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=L17365-005&_sacat=0&_sop=15
The card will have the same throughput as the Broadcom card on the 2.4 GHz wifi band, but on the 5.0 GHz wifi band, it will have a max throughput of 433 MBPS when you have an AC router with an excellent wifi signal strength.
