Envy 13
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I want to buy a hp laptop which I can upgrade in the future (ram and graphics).. I surfed and found out envy 13 series are really good and powerful... Is there any manual or something which says which model is upgradeable and which is not ?

Hi !

Upgrading parts in a laptop can be tricky and may require skill/experience (especially for the GPU or the CPU but the RAM is fine). If you want to be able to upgrade the RAM and the GPU, this parts should not be soldered on the motherboard. In the case of the HP envy 13 2018, i believe both the RAM and the GPU are soldered on the motherboards.

A good way to check for upgradability would be to check the Service and Maintenance Manual of the computer you want to buy. For example, for the HP ENVY 13 -ah006ns, a rapid search on google will bring you to this page:

https://support.hp.com/ph-en/product/hp-envy-13-ah0000-laptop-pc/20283122/model/22488718/manuals

After a quick look, it seems there is no procedure to change the RAM or the GPU.

A quick personal advice, on a 13 inch computer, the modularity is often sacrificed for better performances.
