Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I added a 1TB SSD sata in HHD1bay as the new OS boot disk ages ago (cloning the original OS boot disk). I am now using the original 1TB non SSD SATA disk for software in HHD2 bay (I formatted it as it used to be an OS boot disk). This works fine although I recall at the time it didnt recognise that disk but going in and out of bios seemed to prompt it into action.

Today I tried to replace HHD2 (1TB  non SSD disk) with a new 2TB SSD e.g so I end up with 3TB of SSD/ However, the new 2TB disk never appears in file explorer or in ACronis. However, if i F2 into HP Diagnostics it recognises it.

None of the hardware sites say this will be a compatibility issue. I see in the HP original manual it says it will allow 2TB as 2x 1TB but I cant see why on a modern OS this would be an issue.

Took the drive out and ran it in a USB3 caddy works fine.

Note I used ACronis to clone the original 1TB non SSD disk (which was not a boot disk)

Any ideas?

Right that drive E drive bit was something else . An EFI partition

Looks like the cause of the problem was the need to restart not shutdown the computer. **bleep** windows fast boot!

Drive C and D are on the 1TB SSD

Drive F is the original 1TB non SSD in a caddy

I assume drive E is the new 2TB SSD disk that is not appearing correctly

The 2 TB disk has a single partition of 2TB I should have made that clear

The new SSD disks are MX500 Crucials
